Places to eat, drink and shop

As mentioned there are several local places to eat, drink and shop in the village, a few minutes walk away.

El Muelle
A restaurant that is open from Wednesday to Sunday. They serve local produce and wines. You can order steak (beef and pork), chicken, rabbit, fish and stews plus Andaluz cuisine. It is usually packed out on Friday and Saturday, lunchtime and evenings with local Spanish. The restaurant is located on the far end of the station in a converted engine shed. Gina and Cristobel are the lovely owners. Gina speaks English and helps serve the food and take orders. Cristobel is the chef. Their website is www.asadorelmuelle.com.

Bar Stop
Bar Stop is close to the railway station and has a large outdoor eating area as well as indoor. The food is basic but excellent value. It is locally known as "Anitas" after the owner. Lunchtimes are always packed with the local workman, who go in for a tasty but reasonably priced set meal for just 9€ - the menu is in Spanish and listed on a blackboard inside. In the summer evenings they serve tapas or the full menu. It is a great place to sit and have a beer or wine and watch the world pass by (or a man and his goat...)

La Cantina
This tapas bar is on the station and often has a group of the retired man sitting there playing dominoes. The bar was subject to an article by the Independent - "Meals with a view". The article, a copy of which is in the house, was very complimentary.

Molino del Santo
The Molino is a beautiful hotel with a beautiful terrace in a tranquil setting at the far side of the village. You can eat on the dining terrace next to the river or inside in the dining room. This is a more formal setting than the other establishments, but is still relaxed. The service and food are excellent. The staff here can speak English. The owners Pauline and Andy have lived in the village for many, many years. The head waiter Victor is a real character. All staff are welcoming.

Shop
There is a small shop tucked away that sells everything! A map of how to find it is in the house - you would never discover it otherwise!

Cheese and Pork
Just over the road from the house is a shop that sells pork products, sausages and cheese made on site!

You could be quite self sufficient in the village - it is all available on your doorstep!
